Ingredients

 
3 bratwurst sausages
 
2 tablespoons butter
 
1 tablespoon oil
 
1 onion, sliced
 
1 garlic clove, minced
 
2 stalks celery, chopped
 
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
 
1/2 cup long grain rice, cooked
 
Salt and pepper
 
Parsley sprig for garnish

Directions

Cook the sausages under a preheated moderate grill (broiler) for 8 to 10 minutes on each side until well cooked.
Meanwhile heat the butter and oil in a pan and saute the onion, garlic and celery for 3 minutes.
Stir in the turmeric and rice.
Heat gently, stirring, until hot and well blended.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Spoon this mixture into a warmed serving dish.
Slice the sausages and arrange around the edge of the rice.
Serve with a green salad.
Cooking time: 10 to 15 minutes
