Congo Squares Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened to room temperature | ||
| Dark brown sugar | 1 box | |
| 3 eggs, lightly beaten | ||
| Flour | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Milk chocolate package | 1 | |
| 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans | ||
Directions
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Cream butter with sugar and eggs until well blended; mix in remaining ingredients in the order listed.
Spread in a greased 15 1/2"x10 1/2"x1" jelly-roll pan and bake 30-35 minutes until top springs back when touched.
Cool upright in pan on a wire rack, then cut into squares.
