1/4 cup bottled steak sauce

1/8 teaspoon hot-pepper sauce

1 small garlic clove, minced

Dry sherry

Salad oil

Salt

3/4 pound large shrimp

2 small zucchini

1 bunch green onions

Directions

1. Cut beef top sirloin steak into 1 1/4-inch chunks. In medium-sized bowl, toss steak, steak sauce, hot-pepper sauce, garlic, 1/4 cup sherry, 1 tablespoon salad oil, and 3/4 teaspoon salt; cover and refrigerate about 3 hours, tossing mixture occasionally.
2. Shell and devein shrimp, leaving tail and last segment of shell on. In another medium-sized bowl, toss shrimp with 3 tablespoons salad oil, 1 tablespoon sherry, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cover and refrigerate about 3 hours, tossing occasionally.
3. About 1 hour before serving, prepare outdoor grill for barbecuing.
4. Meanwhile, cut each zucchini crosswise into 6 chunks. Cut off and discard roots from each green onion. Starting from root end, cut two 2 1/2-inch pieces from each green onion (save green tops for use in salad another day).
5. On 6 long skewers, alternately thread meat, shrimp, zucchini, and green onions, reserving meat marinade. Place skewers on grill over medium heat; cook about 10 minutes for rare, or until meat is of desired doneness and shrimp is tender, turning skewers frequently and brushing with meat marinade often.
