Company Pot Roast Recipe

 Onion1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Butter/Margarine1/4 Cup (16 tbs), melted
 Chuck roast1
 Bay leaf1 , quartered
 Orange rind2 Tablespoon, grated
 Ground allspice1/4 Teaspoon
 Pepper1/8 Teaspoon
 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can consomme, diluted

Directions

Saute onion in butter in a large Dutch oven until tender; add meat, and brown on both sides.
Combine seasonings and diluted consomme; pour over meat.
Cover and simmer 2 1/2 hours.
Remove bay leaf.
