Directions

Put butter, syrup and essence in a pan over low heat and stir till melted.
Add Bi-carb.
dlissolved in a little water.
Stir in flour sifted with cornflour and baking powder.
Turn out into a floured board and knead well.
Roll dough out to about 1/4" thick and cut into shapes.
Bake at 350° F for about 20 minutes
