Coffee Date Bars Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 3 | |
| 2 tablespoons instant coffee powder | ||
| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Pitted dates | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Walnuts | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), coarsely chopped | |
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Measure flour, instant coffee, baking powder and salt into a sifter.
Beat eggs until light in large bowl with electric mixer on high speed.
Beat in sugar slowly until thick.
Sift flour mixture over and lightly stir in dates and walnuts.
Spread in lightly greased 13x9x2 inch baking pan.
Bake 35 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan on wire rack; cut into 36 bars.
