Cod In White Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
Frozen cod fillets – 1 pound, thawed and cut into bite-size pieces
Butter - 1/4 cup
Milk - 2 cups
Dry white wine - 1 cup
Fresh parsley - 3 tbsp. chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Flour - 1/4 cup
Asparagus spears – 1 can (15 1/2 ounce)
Button mushrooms - 2 cans (4 ounces)
Cooked shrimp - 1 cup
Directions
MAKING
1) Take a large saucepan and combine milk, butter, wine, salt, pepper and parsley in it. Bring the mixture to a slow boil.
2) Reduce heat and cook for some time.
3) Take 1/2 cup cold water and mix flour in it. Add to the wine mixture.
4) Cook until mixture becomes thick.
5) Add cod and simmer for another 15 minutes.
6) Drain mushrooms and asparagus. Add both to the sauce.
7) Heat the mixture thoroughly.
SERVING
8) Transfer to a large bowl and serve hot.
