Ingredients
2/3 cup brown sugar 150 mL
3 tbs flour 45 mL
2 tsp cinnamon 10 mL
1/4 cup each, melted butter, chopped nuts and lightly toasted flake type coconut 50 mL
1/2 cup cooky crumbs 125 mL
1 large egg, beaten
2/3 cup milk 150 mL
1/2 tsp vanilla 2 mL
1/4 tsp almond extract 1 mL
2 cups sifted pastry flour 500 mL
1 cup sugar 250 mL
1 tbs baking powder 15 mL
1/2 tsp salt 2 mL
1/3 cup shortening 75 mL
Directions
Mix first seven ingredients together and set aside.
Mix egg, milk and flavorings together.
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl and cut in the .

Stir in egg mixture.
Spread half this batter in a greased square cake pan.
