Ingredients

 Milk2 Pint
 Sugar4 Ounce
 Coconut4 Ounce, desiccated
 Rose water1 Teaspoon
 Few drops of pink colouring
 Silver paper to decorate

Directions

Pour the milk into a heavy pan, bring to the boil and let it simmer, uncovered, until reduced by half, stirring frequently.
Add the sugar and dissolve over low heat.
Then stir in the coconut and continue cooking and stirring until the mixture is very thick.
Stir in the rose water.
Turn half the mixture into a greased shallow dish or tin.
Add the colouring to the remaining mixture, tinting it a pale pink colour.
Then spread on top of the white layer in the tin.
