What do you mean "add butter"? Toss in the whole stick? cut it into pieces? melted?

Hi, doesn't matter if you add all the butter together, or cut into pieces and add to the milk. It will melt and blend into the mixture. Stir once or twice until sugar dissolves and butter melts completely.
