1/2 cup shortening
 
3/4 cup white sugar
 
1 cup fllour
 
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
 
1 teaspoon vanilla
 
1/2 cup milk
 
3 egg yolks
 
TOPPING:
 
3 egg whites, beaten stiff
 
1/2 cup white sugar
 
1 1/2 cups cocoanut

Directions

Mix and put in bottom of 9"xl2" pan.
Pour this topping over first mixture, and bake for 30 minutes at 350° F.
