Cocoa Or Chocolate Syrup Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 cup cocoa, or 2 squares chocolate
1 cup cold water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar, or 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Directions
Cook the, cocoa or chocolate (broken into small pieces) and the water until smooth and thick.
Add sugar and salt and cook a few minutes longer.
Add vanilla.
The sauce may be kept in jars and used for pudding or ice cream sauce or for the basis of hot or iced drinks.
Use 2 tablespoons of syrup to each cup of milk.
