Classic Roast Beef Recipe
Classic Roast Beef is popular with my family, its sure to be so with your family too. The marriage of the incredible flavors of Beef with other ingredients is the secret to this Classic Roast Beef recipe. A great Appetizer recipe is one like this. I challenge you to give me a better recipe of Classic Roast Beef than this.
Ingredients
1 5-6 lb strip loin roast
4 bacon slices, halved
Salt and pepper
1/2 tsp thyme
1 tsp parsley, chopped
2 tbsp flour
1/4 cup water or beef broth
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 °F(160 °C).
If strip loin is lean,lard with bacon slices.
In a roa,sting pan with a rack, place meat, fatty side up.
Cook in oven 20 minutes per 1 lb (450 g) for rare meat, or 25-30 minutes for mediumrare.
Baste often.
Halfway through cooking, season.
Transfer roast beef to a serving dish.
Keep warm in oven 5 minutes before carving.
If desired, make a sauce by sprinkling cooking juices with 2 tbsp (30 mL) flour.
Brown.
Fold in water.
Simmer 4-5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Strain sauce.
Pour into a sauceboat.
Surround roast beef with baked potatoes, green beans and carrots, if desired.
