Clam Cheese Pie Recipe
Ingredients
1 large package (8 oz.) cream cheese
4 eggs, separated
2 cans (7 oz. each) minced clams
1 teaspoon minced onion
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco
Pinch of salt (about 1/8 teaspoon)
Pastry-lined 9-inch pie pan
Directions
Soften cheese and break up with a fork; add the egg yolks and beat well.
Drain clams thoroughly; add clams and seasonings to the cream cheese mixture.
Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in; pour mixture into unbaked pastry-lined pan.
Bake in a moderate oven (350°) for 45 minutes, or until crust is brown and filling is firm.
Remove from the oven and let set for 5 minutes before cutting in wedges
