Citrus Iced Tea Recipe
Ingredients
| Cold water | 5 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 cup loose black or orange pekoe tea in tea ball, or 10 tea bags | ||
| Whole Cloves | 6 | |
| Orange or lemon strip | 2 | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Orange juice | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lemon juice | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 cup packed fresh mint leaves | ||
| Ice cubes | ||
| Lemon | 1 Large, thinly sliced | |
| Orange | 1 Large, thinly sliced | |
| 1 long curly strip of orange zest, about 8 inches long | ||
| Sprigs of fresh mint | ||
Directions
1. Bring 4 cups of the water to a boil. Combine the tea, cloves, and the 3-inch strips of lemon and orange zest in a heatproof bowl. Cover with the boiling water and steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea ball, then stir in the sugar, orange and lemon juices, and mint leaves. Cover, let stand for 30 minutes, strain into a 2-quart pitcher, and stir in the remaining 1 cup of water. Chill.
2. To serve, fill the pitcher with ice cubes and stir in the lemon and orange slices. Garnish with the curly strip of orange zest and sprigs of mint. Pour in tall glasses filled with ice.
