Ingredients

 
2 c. sugar
 
1 tsp. cinnamon
 
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
 
1/2 c. boiling water
 
3 c. walnuts, mixed nuts or a combination of nuts and raisins
 
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Directions

Step1-Mix sugar, cinnamon, cream of tartar and boiling water in pan.

Step2-Boil to 240 degrees Fareinhite on candy thermometer or until a small amount forms a soft ball when dropped into cold water.

Step3- Add nuts and cool slightly. Add vanilla, and stir until mixture "sugars" and coats the nuts.

Step4-Then turn out on to waxed paper and separate nuts.
