Directions

Soften yeast in lukewarm water.
Add butter, honey, and salt.
Blend in egg, then add flour and mix until dough is well blended and soft.
Place in oiled bowl, cover with cloth and allow to rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
Roll dough on well-floured board to 1/4-inch-thick rectangle and fit on greased baking sheet.
Mix nuts, dates, lemon peel, cinnamon, and honey.
Spread mixture evenly over dough.
Cut into 1 1/2 inch squares.
Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in warm place until double in size (about 25 minutes).
Preheat oven to 400° F.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
