Cinnamon Chews Recipe
Ingredients
| Shortening | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Milk | 2 Tablespoon | |
| All-purpose flour-1 cup | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Vanilla extract | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Pecans and walnuts | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Sugar | 3 Tablespoon | |
Directions
MAKING
1) Beat shortening and slowly add 1/2 cup sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.
2) Add egg yolk and milk. Beat well.
3) In a bowl mix flour, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Add the dry mixture to creamed mixture.
4) Add vanilla. Mix well.
5) Take an ungreased 11- x 7- x 1 1/2 inch baking pan and put the batter into it.
6) Beat the egg white and apply a coat on the batter.
7) Now, mix chopped pecans, 3 tablespoons sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle over dough.
8) Bake it at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes.
9) Cut into squares. And let it cool in pan.
