Cinnamon Apple Cake Recipe

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cream butter with 1 1/4 cups sugar until light and fluffy; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift flour and baking powder; fold into egg mixture; spread in pan.
In small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon; in it dip apple slices until well coated; arrange slices, spoke fashion, in circle around outer edge of cake batter.
Sprinkle any remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture on center of cake.
Bake 45 minutes or until cake tester, inserted in center, comes out clean.
Cool in pan, on rack, 10 minutes; remove side of pan and finish cooling.
