Cincinnati Chili Recipe
The cincinnati chili is a beef chili prepared with vegetables and kidney beans. Spiced with cinnamon, cloves and garlic with a dash of chili to it, the cincinnati chili is cooked in vegetable juice and can be served with rice, noodles or spaghetti.
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
2 cups chopped onions
2 large cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Dash ground cloves
4 cups Vegetable Juice
2 cans (16 ounces each) kidney beans, drained
Hot cooked spaghetti
Directions
1. In 6-quart Dutch oven over medium heat, cook ground beef, onions and garlic until beef is browned and onions are tender, stirring to separate meat. Spoon off fat.
2. Stir in chili powder, cinnamon and ground cloves; cook 2 minutes. Stir in juice. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Cover; simmer 30 minute.
3. Stir in beans. Cover; simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
