Cider Gelatin Salad Recipe
Ingredients
| Unflavored gelatin | 1 | |
| Sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Dash | |
| Cider | 1 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lemon juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1 1/2 cups diced unpeeled red apples | ||
| Celery | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| Mayonnaise | ||
| Chopped nuts | ||
Directions
In saucepan mix gelatin, sugar, and salt.
Add 1/2 cup cider.
Let stand for 5 minutes.
Heat, stirring, until gelatin is dissolved.
Remove from heat and add remaining cider and lemon juice.
Chill until thickened to consistency of unbeaten egg white.
Fold in apple and celery and pour into 6 lightly oiled individual molds or a 1-quart mold.
Chill until firm.
Unmold on greens, top with mayonnaise, and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
