Chutney Fish Recipe
Chutneyed Fish has a great taste. Chutneyed Fish is easy to cook and gets its taste from eggs and cheese flavored with vinegar.
Ingredients
| Approximately 1 lb. fish | ||
| Few drops of vinegar | ||
| 2 tablespoons crisp breadcrumbs | ||
| Few slices cucumber or gherkin | ||
| Chutney | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1/2 gill milk | ||
| Onion | 1 Teaspoon, grated | |
| Cheese | 2 Tablespoon, grated | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Seasoning | ||
| Margarine | 1 Ounce | |
Directions
This is a particularly useful dish for, when cooked the fish is already in a thick sauce.
Put the uncooked fish into a greased dish.
Mix the egg, milk, chutney, cucumber, onion, vinegar and seasoning together.
Pour this mixture over the fish.
Sprinkle the top with breadcrumbs, cheese and small pieces of margarine.
Bake in the centre of a moderately hot oven (400°F.€”Gas Mark 5) for 25-30 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fish.
