Churros Recipe
Ingredients
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 8 oz/225 g plain flour | ||
| 1 egg, size 3, beaten | ||
| Oil for deep frying | ||
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 2 oz/50 g caster sugar | ||
Directions
Place 16 fl oz/475 ml water in a saucepan with the salt.
Bring to the boil, then add the flour (all at once) and beat until the mixture forms a ball.
Cool slightly, then beat in the egg.
Heat the oil for deep frying to 350°F, 180°C.
Place churros mixture in a piping bag fitted with a 1/2 in/1.25 cm star nozzle and pipe 3 in/7.5 cm lengths into the oil -about four at a time.
Fry for 2-3 mins, or until golden, then drain on kitchen paper and transfer to a serving bowl.
Mix cinnamon and sugar, then place in separate bowl for dipping.
Serve churros immediately.
