Chunky-Style Split-Pea Soup With Ham Recipe

| Smoked ham hocks | 1 Pound | |
| Carrots | 3 , cut into 0.5 inch cubes | |
| Potatoes | 2 , cut into 0.5 inch cubes | |
| Onion | 1 , chopped | |
| Celery stalks | 2 , chopped | |
| Salt | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Peppercorns | 12 | |
| Parmesan cheese | 1 Tablespoon, grated (For Garnish) |

Directions
Cover and cook on low 5 to 6 hours.
Turn heat to high and cook an ad ditional 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until peas and vegetables are tender.
Remove ham; cube meat and return it to soup.
Stir to mash some of the peas and thicken soup.
Add additional water if you wish to thin the consistency.
Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese when served.
