Chunks Of Chocolate Cookies Recipe
Ingredients

| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Firmly packed brown sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 3 | |
| Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
| All purpose flour | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Nuts | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Pitted dates | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |

Directions
Cream shortening and sugars until fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla extract and beat well.
Combine flour, salt, and soda, and stir In the nuts.
Add to creamed mixture, blending well.
Stir In the dates.
Break the chocolate Into raisin-size pieces and add to mixture.
Chill dough for several hours.
Form dough into balls the size of walnuts.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Flatten balls with fork dipped In flour.
Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove from cookie sheets immediately.
