Chuck Wagon Steak Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients
| Soy sauce | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 tablespoons instant onion flakes | ||
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 6 medium-sized cube steaks | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Flour | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Ground ginger | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Milk | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Mushrooms | 1/2 pound, sliced | |
| 1 loaf (1 pound) Vienna bread | ||
| Corn oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 2 medium-sized tomatoes, each cut into 6 slices | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1)In a bowl, mix soy sauce, water, onion flakes, crushed garlic and sugar.
2)Put in the cube steaks and marinate for at least 1 hour.
MAKING
3)To Make the Sauce: In a 1 quart saucepan, melt 1/3 cup butter.
4)In a bowl, sift flour with salt, pepper and ginger. Stir into the butter.
5)Pour in milk gradually and stir continually. Let the sauce thicken.
6)Cool for 2 minutes.
7)In a frying pan, heat the remaining butter.
8)Saute the mushrooms and put them in the sauce.
9)Let the sauce be hot.
10)Line the marinated steaks on oiled griddle or grill. Cook till done.
FINALIZING
11)Cut 12 slices of the Vienna bread.
12)Butter the slices.
13)If needed, toast them in a oven at 400° F for about 15minutes. The slices can also be wrapped in foil and heated over grill.

14)Serve the steak with hot sauce and toasts!
