Christmas Loaf Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1-1/2 t. double acting baking powder | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Tablespoon | |
| 2/3 C. glazed semi-sweet chocolate pieces | ||
| Walnuts | 2 Cup (16 tbs), coarsely chopped | |
| Dates | 1 Cup (16 tbs), finley snipped | |
| Cherries | 1 Cup (16 tbs), halved | |
| Eggs | 3 | |
| Granulated Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Start heating oven to 325 degrees F.
Grease a 10 x 5 x 3 loaf pan well; then line bottom with wax paper.
Into medium bowl sift flour with baking powder and salt.
Now stir in chocolate pieces, walnuts, dates and cherries until all are well coated with flour.
In large bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat eggs well; then gradually beat in sugar.
Now fold in flour mixture; turn into loaf pan.
Bake 1-1/2 hours or until done.
Cool in pan on wire rack.
When cool remove from pan, wrap in foil and store.
