Christmas Cut-Out Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
| All purpose flour | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 cup oats, quick-cooking or regular, uncooked | ||
| Semi-sweet chocolate morsels package | 1 , melted | |
Directions
Cream butter, adding sugar gradually until fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
Combine flour and salt; add to creamed mixture.
Blend in oats.
Roll dough out on lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut about two-thirds of the dough with a large round cutter.
Cut remaining dough with smaller cutters into Christmas trees, stars, bells, etc., making as many small designs as there are large rounds.
Place all cookies on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool.
Frost each round cookie with melted chocolate.
Then place one or more of the small designs on top.
