Chop Suey Canadian Recipe
Ingredients
| Rice - 1/2 cup, cooked as directed | ||
| Good sized onions - 3 , chopped | ||
| Celery - 2 sticks , cut up, not too fine | ||
| Carrots | 2 | |
| Green pepper | 1/2 To taste | |
| Ground beef | 1 Pound | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1 Preheat the oven at 350 degrees fahrenheit.
MAKING
2 In a cast iron frying pan, sear the beef until brown.
3 Remove the beef from the pan.
4 In the same pan, add enough butter and gently fry the vegetables.
5 In a bowl, combine cooked rice, seared meat, and vegetables together.
6 Add 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.
7 Transfer to a casserole.
8 In a bowl, mix 1 can tomato soup with 1 can of water.
9 Pour over the mixture in the casserole.
10 Bake for about 45 minutes.
SERVING
11 Serve hot.
