Chocolatines Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 cup (125 ml) butter
1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar, lightly packed
1/2 tsp (2 ml) almond extract
1 egg yolk
1/2 cup (125 ml) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (125 ml) rolled oats
1 cup (250 ml) chocolate chips
1/4 cup (60 ml) toasted almonds, finely chopped
1/4 cup (60 ml) crushed nuts
Directions
– Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
– Butter an 8-inch (20-cm) square cake pan.
– Cream butter and stir in brown sugar, almond extract and egg yolk.
– Add flour and rolled oats.
– Spread batter evenly in the pan and bake 25 minutes.
– In top of double-boiler, melt chocolate chips and pour over cake. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
– Cool until chocolate hardens. Slice.
