Chocolate Syrup Recipe
Ingredients
3 squares (3 oz.) unsweetened chocolate
2/3 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
Directions
Combine chocolate and water in saucepan and set over moderate heat.
Heat, stirring constantly, until hot and chocolate is about half melted.
Remove from heat and continue stirring until chocolate is melted and mixture is well blended.
Stir in sugar, corn syrup and salt.
Return to moderate heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Turn down heat and simmer 5 minutes, stirring.
Remove from heat.
Stir in butter and vanilla.
Serve hot over Poires Helene.
Note: Sauce may be made ahead and reheated.
