Chocolate Shortbread Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients
1/2-lb. flour
2 oz. castor sugar
2 oz. ground almonds
1/4-lb. butter
1/4-tspn. salt
Directions
Beat butter to a cream.
Mix all the dry ingre- dients together and rub into the butter, work- ing with the hands till mixture becomes like putty.
Butter a small size Swissroll pan, place mixture into the centre and knead and press it to the sides till even.
Prick all over with a fork.
Bake at 325" F for 40 - 45 minutes, till a light, golden colour and firm to the touch.
Leave to cool a little in pan when cut into fingers of uniform size.
When nearly cold, re- move from pan.
Ice with Chocolate Icing and sprinkle with chopped almonds.
