Double Boiler Chocolate Sauce Recipe
This chocolate sauce is a sugarychocolate and vanilla sauce. A cooked dessert sauce, this chocolate sauce is best made with rich milk and is sweetened with sugar. Served with cakes, dessert rolls or buns, this dessert sauce is delicious and rich to taste.
Ingredients
Sugar- 1 1/2 cups
Water- 1/2 cup
Rich milk or water- 1/4 cup
Unsweetened chocolate- 4 squares
Vanilla- 1/2 teaspoon
Directions
MAKING
1.Let sugar and water boil in a saucepan for five minutes.
2.Cool partly and gradually stir in the chocolate which has been melted over hot water.
3.Add the vanilla.
4.Place in a double boiler or in a pan over hot water until ready to serve.
5.At the last moment, add the milk.
SERVING
6.Serve with vanilla ice cream

If to be used with ice cream, use water instead of milk
