Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Recipe
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup flour
3 tablespoons baking cocoa
Dash of salt
3 egg yolks
2 cups milk
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
2 tablespoons (heaping) crunchy or regular peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 baked (9 inch) pie shell
Meringue
Directions
Combine the sugar, flour, baking cocoa and salt in a bowl and blend well.
Beat the egg yolks in another bowl; beat in a small portion of the cocoa mixture.
Combine the egg mixture, sugar mixture and milk in a saucepan over medium-high heat; bring to a boil.
Boil gently for 1 minute.
Remove from heat.
Blend in the butter, peanut butter and vanilla.
Pour into the pie shell.
Top with meringue, sealing to the edge.
Bake at 350 degrees for a few minutes or until beginning to brown.
Let stand until cool.
Chill and serve.
