Chocolate Macaroon Cake Recipe
Have you been swept off your feet lately?? This yummy Chocolate Macaroon Cake is sure to do so. I prepare this yum Chocolate Macaroon Cake as a Dessert every month or even more often. My friends tried this Chocolate Macaroon Cake the other day and they simply adored it. Do I need to say more?
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg
Macaroon Filling
Chocolate Frosting
Directions
Grease bottom only of oblong baking dish, 10 x 6 x 1 1/2 inches.
Blend all ingredients except Macaroon Filling and Chocolate Frosting in large mixer bowl on low speed, scraping bowl constantly.
Beat 3 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally.
Pour batter evenly into baking dish.
Spoon Macaroon Filling onto batter by teaspoonfuls.
Microwave uncovered 5 minutes; turn dish one-half turn.
Microwave until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 3 to 4 minutes.
(Parts of the cake will appear very moist, but these parts will continue to cook while standing.)
Cool thoroughly; frost with Chocolate Frosting.
