Chocolate Imperial Pie Recipe

Ingredients
1 envelope unflavored gelatine
1/4 cup cold water
3 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 egg whites
1/4. cup sugar
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 9-inch baked pie shell
Directions
Soften gelatine in cold water.
Dissolve over boiling water.
Melt chocolate over hot water.
Add salt to egg whites and beat until mixture forms soft peaks.
Gradually add sugar, beating until smooth and glossy.
Continue beating and add corn syrup gradually.
Fold in vanilla, cooled gelatine and cooled chocolate.
Turn into pie shell.
Chill for 3 hours or until firm.
If desired, garnish with whipped cream and grated chocolate.
