Eggless Chocolate Chuck Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 cups unbleached flour
1 1/2 cups coarsely ground pecans about 6 ounces
1 cup unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 ounces good quality sweet eating chocolate
Dash salt
Directions
Beat brown sugar and butter until creamy.
Beat in vanilla, salt, flour and pecans and blend well.
Break up bars of chocolate into irregular pieces, none of which should be larger than about 1/4 inch.
Stir in chocolate.
Drop from heaping tablespoon onto greased cookie sheets, leaving about 2 inches between them to spread out.
Bake at 325 degrees 6 to 8 minutes.
Do not overbake or the cookies will harden.
They should have soft, chewy centers.
NOTE TO COOK: Carry to party in container and arrange on serving dish.
