1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sifted flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Directions
Cream sugars, vegetable shortening, egg, and vanilla.
Combine flour, salt, and soda; stir into creamed mixture.
Blend in chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove from sheet immediately.
