Baking powder- 3 teaspoons
 
Salt- 3/4 teaspoon
 
Shortening- 1/2 cup
 
Sugar- 1 cup
 
Vanilla- 1 1/2 teaspoons

Chocolate pieces- 1 cup
 
Milk- 2/3 cup

Directions

GETTING READY
1.Start by preheating the oven to 350F degrees
MAKING
2.In a bowl, sift flour, baking powder and salt together
3.Cream shortening with sugar and vanilla
4.Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
5.Mix chocolate pieces with part of flour mixture and add to creamed mixture
6.Add flour alternately with milk in small amounts
7.Bake in greased muffin pans in moderate oven for 25 minutes
SERVING
8.Serve with tea or coffee
