Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
2/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts
2 packages (6 ounces each) semisweet chocolate pieces
Directions
Heat oven to 375°.
Mix shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in the remaining ingredients.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet.
Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool slightly; remove from baking sheet.
(Can be served immediately.) Wrap, label and freeze.
20 minutes before serving, remove Chocolate Chip Cookiesfrom freezer and unwrap.
Place on serving plate; thaw uncovered at room temperature.
