Ingredients

 
1/2 cup unsalted butter
 
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
 
1 1/4 cups sugar
 
2 large eggs
 
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
 
2/3 cup all purpose flour
 
1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
 
1/3 cup white chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Butter and flour 9 inch square baking pan.
Stir butter and unsweetened chocolate in heavy medium saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth.
Cool 15 minutes.
Add sugar, eggs and peppermint extract and whisk to blend.
Add flour and all chocolate chips and blend well.
Pour batter into prepared pan, spreading evenly.
Bake brownies until tester inserted into center comes out with moist crumbs attached, about 25 minutes.
Cool brownies in pan on rack.
Cut into squares and serve.
