Ingredients
115 grams (4 oz.) shortcrust pastry,
1 packet (85 grams) chocolate pudding
1 teaspoon cocoa
2 teaspoons sugar
3 teacups milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence, sweetened cream and grated chocolate for decoration
Directions
1. Roll out the pastry dough on a lightly floured board to fit a 175 mm. or 200 mm. (7" or 8") diameter pie dish.
2. Place the pastry in an ungreased pie dish of this size. Prick with a fork all over.
3. Bake in a hot oven at 450 °F. for 10 to 12 minutes.
4. Cool the pastry shell.
5. Heat the milk. When slightly hot, add contents of the chocolate pudding packet, cocoa and sugar and mix very well. Heat further and allow to boil for exactly 2 minutes.
6. Cool the mixture and add the vanilla essence.
7. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust.
8. Set in the freezer compartment of a refrigerator.
9. When set, decorate with sweetened cream and grated chocolate. Store in the refrigerator.
