Chocolate Chess Pie Recipe

Ingredients

 
1 1/2 cups sugar
 
3 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
 
Pinch of salt
 
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
 
1 tablespoon cornmeal
 
1/2 cup chopped pecans
 
3 eggs, beaten
 
1/2 cup milk
 
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
 
1 unbaked 9-inch pastry shell
 
Sifted powdered sugar (optional)

Directions

Combine first 6 ingredients in a medium bowl, mix well.
Combine eggs, milk, and vanilla, stir into dry ingredients, mixing well.
Pour into pastry shell, bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until pie is set.
Cool on a wire rack.
Lightly sift powdered sugar over pie, if desired.
