Ingredients
3 ripe bananas
30 ml (2 tablespoons) rum
550 ml (1 pint) (2 1/2 cups) double (heavy) cream
175 g (6 oz) plain chocolate, finely grated
4 scoops vanilla ice-cream

Directions
1 Slice the bananas very thinly and sprinkle with the rum.
2 Whip the cream until thick.
Remove one-quarter, mix it with the chocolate and reserve for decoration.
Add the bananas and rum to the remaining cream, and spoon the mixture into 4 indi- vidual serving dishes.
3 Just before serving, top each dish with a scoop of ice-cream.
Pipe the chocolate cream around the ice cream and sprinkle choco- late vermicelli over.
Tip: Coffee ice-cream would make a delicious alternative to the vanilla ice-cream.
