Chocolate Walnut Wafers Recipe
Ingredients

| Baking soda | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Butter/Margarine | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Firmly packed brown sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Unsweetened chocolate square | 2 , melted | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Milk | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Granulated sugar | ||
| Walnut halves | ||
Directions
1. Measure flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda into sifter.
2. Beat butter or margarine and brown sugar in a medium-size bowl, until fluffy; beat in melted chocolate, egg, vanilla and milk. Sift in dry ingredients, one third at a time, blending well to make a soft dough. Chill several hours, or until firm enough to handle.
3. Roll dough, one level teaspoonful at a time, between palms of hands, into round balls; roll in granulated sugar. Place, 3 inches apart, on ungreased cooky sheets; flatten to 1/4-inch thickness with bottom of a glass. Top each with a walnut half.
4. Bake in moderate oven (350°) 12 minutes, or until firm. Remove the wafers carefully to wire racks with a spatula; cool.
