Chocolate Nut Triangles Recipe
Ingredients
| Shortening | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Firmly packed brown sugar | 2 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 3 | |
| All purpose flour | 2 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 2 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Nuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| 1 6-ounce package (1 cup) semisweet chocolate pieces | ||
| Maple Frosting | ||
| Chocolate Frosting | ||
| Candied cherries and nuts | ||
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°.
Line 15 1/2 X 10 1/2 X 1-inch jelly roll pan with foil.
Melt shortening in large saucepan.
Stir in brown sugar; mix well.
Remove from heat; cool 10 minutes.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together; stir into sugar mixture.
Stir in nuts and chocolate pieces.
Spread in prepared pan.
Bake 25-30 minutes.
Cool 10 minutes in pan; invert on board.
Cool thoroughly.
Frost half with Maple Frosting and half with Chocolate Frosting.
With electric knife, trim edges and cut into 2-inch squares.
Cut each square diagonally to form triangles.
Decorate with nuts and candied cherries.
