Chocolate Nut Loaf Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup soft butter
2 cups sugar
5 eggs, well beaten
1 cup pecans, coarsely broken
3 squares (3 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 cup buttermilk OR sour milk
Creamy Mocha Icing
Whole pecans
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour two 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans.
Cream butter until fluffy.
Add sugar gradually, beating constantly.
Beat in eggs.
Stir in nuts, chocolate and vanilla.
Sift flour, salt and soda together and add alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
Spoon batter into prepared pans and bake 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the centre comes out clean.
Turn out on racks and cool.
Ice with Creamy Mocha Icing and decorate with whole pecans.
