Chocolate Mousse Recipe
Ingredients
| 250 g / 8 oz / 8 squares dark chocolate | ||
| 25 g / 1 oz / 1/4 stick butter | ||
| Vanilla essence | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Grated rind and juice of 1 orange | ||
| Egg yolks | 4 , beaten | |
| 4 egg ivhites, beaten until stiff | ||
| 150 ml / 1/4 pt / 2/3 cup double cream | ||
| 50 g / 2 oz / 1/2 cup chopped almonds | ||
Directions
Gently melt chocolate and butter in a saucepan.
When thoroughly melted, remove from heat and blend in vanilla, orange rind and juice.
Beat in egg yolks, one at a time.
Gently fold in egg whites.
Pour into a glass bowl, or 6 individual glasses, and chill for about 4 hr.
Serve decorated with whipped cream and chopped almonds.
