Chocolate Macadamia Bars Recipe
|Bittersweet chocolate/1 package, 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips||12 Ounce (12 Squares, 1 Ounce Each)|
|Cream cheese||8 Ounce, softened (1 Package)|
|Whipping cream/Undiluted evaporated milk||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Chopped macadamia nuts/Almonds||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vanilla||1 Teaspoon, divided|
|Butter/Margarine||1 Cup (16 tbs), softened|
|Sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|

Combine chocolate, cream cheese and cream in large heavy saucepan.
Stir over low heat until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
Remove from heat; stir in nuts and 1/2 teaspoon of the vanilla.
Cream butter and sugar in large bowl.
Beat in egg and remaining 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
Add flour, baking powder and salt, blending well.
Press half of the butter mixture on bottom of prepared pan.
Spread chocolate mixture evenly over the top.
Sprinkle remaining butter mixture over chocolate.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool in pan on wire rack.
Cut into 2 X 1 1/2-inch bars.
