| FONDUE | ||
| Heavy whipping cream | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Bittersweet chocolate bars - 4 (3 1/2 ounces each), chopped | ||
| Frangelico or Amaretto liqueur (optional) - 2 tablespoons | ||
| Hazelnuts or almonds (optional) - 1/4 cup, finely chopped | ||
| SUGGESTED "DIP-ABLES" - Any 3-4 of the follwing will do | ||
| Hazelnut or almond biscotti | ||
| Salted pretzel sticks | ||
| Cubed pound cake | ||
| Sliced bananas | ||
| Stem strawberries | ||
| Sectioned navel oranges | ||
| Ripe fresh pineapple, diced | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Arrange a heavy non-reactive saucepan and fondue pot.
MAKING
2) In the saucepan, heat the cream over moderate heat until boil comes.
3) Remove the pan from heat and add chopped chocolate.
4) Dllow the chocolate to soften for 3-5 minutes and then whisk proeprly with cream.
5) Add liqueur to the chocolate mix along wih nuts (optional).x
6) Transfer the mix to fondue pot.
7) A mixing bowl can also be used to serve fondue on the rack above a lit candle.
SERVING
8) On a serving palatter, pile up your favorite DIP-ABLES and serve along with chocolate fondue.
9) Use bamboo skewers, fondue forks or seafood forks as dipping tools.
TIP: For thin fondue, stir in resrved cream, 1 tablespoon at a time to get the required consistency.
